Cutting the sugary frappuccinos and mochas with extra whip and sprinkles may be good for your health, but it can limit your options when you are craving a coffee-themed treat. Especially with summer almost here, drinking hot black coffee may not be hitting the spot. Never fear! We’ve found three delicious, creative ways to cool down your coffee (or tea!) in the summer that will keep you from ever even thinking about that Starbucks sugar bomb.
- Espresso Yogurt. This idea is so genius, everyone should take advantage of it! Instant espresso powder has a much finer texture than regular instant coffee and will dissolve in any liquid, it doesn’t need to be hot! What that means is instant espresso powder makes a fantastic addition to greek yogurt. This recipe works at any meal of the day, for a main dish or dessert! Try adding a pinch of cacao powder for an after lunch treat.
- Japanese Iced Coffee. Most coffee lovers trying to eat healthy already alternate between hot and iced coffee, but this recipe makes that iced coffee absolutely divine. It’s a very simple switch up recipe. You pour your prepared black coffee into an ice cube tray and freeze the night before. Then, put the cubes in a glass and pour your serving of milk over them when you are ready to drink! The beverage never gets watery and the coffee melts into the milk at every sip. Yum!
- Chai Latte Popsicles. For those without the coffee gene, these popsicles are perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up! Easy to make and delicious to eat, just because we are experiencing June gloom doesn’t mean you shouldn’t eat summer staples. Just be sure you switch out the heavy cream for coconut milk as suggested. You can also use a variety of different teas, try peach white tea for something fruity!
