Hi,

Well, any of you who have seen me this last week know that I had a big “slow things down” event! I got a cast on my right hand! And while I’d love to have a glorious tale of breaking my hand while rock-climbing in the Himalayas, I actually tore a ligament in my thumb opening a Starbucks door. (Yes, you read that right)

Having never had a cast or been “stuck”, this is a new experience and definitely a solid reminder that I need to be mindful of the “busy” things that I can’t get done the same way I’ve been used to! I have quickly realized that I’ve got to be more mindful of what actually NEEDS to get done and prioritize the time and planning to make it happen.

Haha! At first that was just learning how to clasp my bra, tie my shoes and zip my pants! Priorities of a new proportion! I need help to get prepped for a simple shower and I think twice about a quick “I’ll just wash my hair”! It’s been enlightening for sure. 🙂

But this 6-week annoyance has really helped me to slow things down, refocus and reprioritize! (work in progress for sure!) I now have to be VERY mindful where I spend my time, focusing on the MOST important things that help me achieve my goals and get help when I can’t do it all.

As a busy mom and business owner, I can’t afford the time to be just BUSY doing little things that get me through a TO DO List and not get my “Big Rocks” done. I’m now, more than ever, laser-focused on getting my top 3 priorities DONE!

What are your 3 top things to accomplish in your week? Are you focused on those first? Where can you let go of some BUSY, but non-essential tasks that suck up all of your time?

FYI…taking care of your own health & fitness IS an important goal and shouldn’t be shunted to the bottom of your list if you want to keep having the energy to DO your top goals! 🙂

It’s ALWAYS good to take a few moments in your week, ESPECIALLY Sunday to step back, map out your goals and be ready to BE AWESOME starting your Monday with a plan! Give it a try this coming week!
