infusedwater

Water is necessary for all human life, but sometimes it’s hard to drink the recommended amount. According to the Mayo Clinic, the average person needs 2-3 liters per day (link: http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-living/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/in-depth/water/art-20044256). What happens when you don’t get enough water? Well, you have more trouble flushing toxins out of your system, your muscles will tire more quickly, and you might notice a drop in digestive health. Even slight dehydration can lead to you to feeling fatigued. So, here are three infused water recipes to spice up your daily dose of H20!

Strawberry-Basil-Lemon

Ingredients:

1 liter of water

10 strawberries

1/2 of a lemon

8 basil leaves

This recipe is sweet, savory, AND sour, a combination that will tickle your tastebuds! Chop the strawberries in half, cut the lemon into thin slices, and crumble the basil (so it releases the flavor). Add all three ingredients to the water and voila!

Pro tip: If you like a stronger flavor, let sit in the refrigerator overnight.

Cucumber-Tangerine-Lime

Ingredients:

1 liter of water

1/2 of a cucumber

1 tangerine

1/2 of a lime

Who needs boring cucumber water when you have this recipe? The tangy citrus notes of tangerine and lime brighten your H20 right up. Cut the cucumber, tangerine and lime into thin slices and add to your water bottle. Delicious!

Watermelon-Mint

Ingredients:

1 liter of water

1 cup of watermelon

5 mint leaves

This recipe is THE solution for leftover watermelon! So refreshing in the warm months ahead. Just cube your watermelon and cut the mint leaves in half. Add to your water and enjoy!
